June home maintenance checklist

June is water month — flush the water heater, check the T&P valve, and look hard at paint and siding.

• Check HVAC filter (replace every 1–3 months)

• Flush water heater (drain sediment)

  Lift the lever, hear the discharge; a stuck valve is a pressure hazard.

• Check exterior paint / siding for peeling & rot

  Paint is the sacrificial layer — bare wood decays fast.

• Trim vegetation 12+ inches off siding & roofline

  Plants hold moisture against the house and give pests a bridge.
